Did you know Molly-Mae has been accused AGAIN by breaking the ASA (advertising standards authority) guidelines with her latest #giveaway? 🙈😟 Here’s how to make sure yours doesn’t get shut down:

Tips to running the best giveaway:

🙌 Determine what you want out of your giveaway (followers, sign ups, engagement)

🙌 Understand the ASA guidelines to avoid the risk of it being shut down*

🙌 Choose a prize your followers will love

🙌 Create an engaging graphic/photo & caption

🙌 Decide whether you want to promote it or run it organically

🙌 Pick a winner FAIRLY – I always recommend posting a video of the winner being drawn on your story

🙌 Track the results so you can understand what worked/didn’t for the next giveaway!

& here are the most important (I feel) things to remember when running your giveaway:

🔎 Giveaways are different to competitions – a giveaway gives everyone a FAIR chance of winning. So you must ensure the winner is chosen at random.

🔎 You must not inaccurately tag content or encourage users to tag themselves in photos. Tagging in comments is allowed.

🔎 Always include terms & conditions that state the expiration date & confirm how many winners will there be.

🔎 Finally, you must state within the Ts & Cs whether the giveaway is endorsed or promoted by any other brands or accounts. And this is the important part to remember – if it is not, you MUST state that it is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram, Facebook (or any other brands that may be seen within the prize).
